Elementary Guidance Classes

In 2nd to 4th grade, we will be learning together to enhance emotional awareness, self-regulation, social skills, and ensure that our school is a safe and welcoming learning environment for every student.  4th Grade classes emphasize leadership skills in the first semester, and then focus on adjusting to change to help our students as they move up to Penns Valley Intermediate School in 5th grade.
 

Intermediate Guidance Classes

In 5th grade, students will collaborate with peers as we consider the impact of our personal choices, examine strategies to mitigate conflict, monitor and analyze how we use our time and explore future career options.

 

 

In 6th grade, students have the opportunity to explore careers in greater depth, as well as work through a budget exercise to reinforce the importance of careers and work.  We discuss change and transition again as our students prepare to enter Penns Valley Junior/ Senior High School in 7th grade.

To assist our students, we would love to have any of our parents, relatives or community members who are willing to be interviewed about their careers and current occupations by a class of 5/6 students via Skype (or another mutually agreeable method).
